The Day iWish
Grant me the idea to blog,
the time to reply all my Inbox
and the wisdom to not play with my iPhone so much.

The Day Mamaks Say The Darnest Things
As usual, I look forward to my weekly futsal training
for the one-hour post-futsal drinking session with my Srikandi girlfriends,
wayyyy more than the one-hour of running around and checking out cute boys next court
(that's why I hardly bring Supertall along, woottt!).
The mamaks at this particular Medan Selera Jalan 223 never fail to make us laugh
every Thursday, every time we order something, anything!

And so I've shared with you this a couple of months ago and last night, I clearly ordered,
"Nasi Goreng Kampung satu! TAPI tak mau ayam, tak mau daging, tak mau telur, tak mau seafood please!
Bagi extra pedas OK?"
Abadeeeeen, this is what he shouted to his cook,
"WOOOKEH! Neh, naaasi goreng kampung satu, SAYUR tak mau!"
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
And that is of course, among other (wrong orders that night).

The (One) Day In May, They All Seem To BE Worth It
After almost a year of not teaching 60 yoga classes a month and
after exactly a month of working round the clock to keep Be Yoga all shiny,
I know I deserve this.
T-O-D-A-Y.
"Tanggal tiga puluh satu!"

The Day There Is A Book For Every Idiot: from 'Idiot's Guide to Ashtanga' to 'That Idiot's Just Not That Into You' and even 'How To Sell To Idiots'!
Ok lah. I exaggerated a little bit.
I am one of the idiots that had been buying those alike titles.
For the past ten years, they have been my loyal tea companions.
For the past couple of years, in between of those above,
I found reading these helped me be more grateful and understand that
1. 'In order to change the world, I have to change first' and
2. 'If I'm not happy about something, do something to change it.
If I can't change it, change my attitude to STOP COMPLAINING'.
Well, for the next couple of months, you will catch me reading a lot of this:
Oh yes, the memoribilia background intended :)
Those What To Expect When You Are Expecting and the likes,
can be expected in ermmm, another ten years to come, OK?

The Day We Used To Write This Way
Back in STF, I think almost half of us had almost, if not very similar handwriting.
So when I came across Chics' (she was 2 years my senior in STF) post on this one,
I immediately and shamelessly tagged myself.
Before I start,
guess what I found earlier.

From Form 1 (year '95) to Form 5 (year '99),
I have always been in kelas Feminin, no joke
(dan kelas Feminin punya Ketua Keceriaan).
S - Setia
T - Tegas
F - Feminin
J - Jujur
B - Bersih
(Old fact that I am not proud of: The year I joined STF (1995), KRU and Feminin were happening, OK!!!
I couldn't have been happiest dapat masuk kelas 1 Feminin, ha ha haa!)
I first discovered I have (I'd like to think, mild) OCD from STF years.
I just had to write my karangan, esei, kertas jawapan and (copied :P) kerja rumah
with the very same handwriting in size, font height, font width, from one page to the very last.
I remember re-writing the whole my 3 pages of Bahasa Melayu Kertas II's question no. 1
(I think I stretched the minimum 180 words to 1800 words, seriously. Just because I can :P and)
mainly because, I thought my penmanship on the third page was not as neat as the first one.
Even if they did, I really didn't mind!
Just to prove my point
(that aku rasa tulisan aku kemas dan comel :D)
let's go back to the tag,
1. Write your name:

2. Are you right or left-handed?

3. Favourite letter to write:

4. Least favourite letter to write:

5. Re-write 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dogs'

Just to prove this entry's very first line
'Back in STF, I think almost half of us had almost, if not very similar same handwriting',
I am tagging three of my STF 95-99 batchmates (that actively blog, kalau tak Dilart dan Haniz pun kena),
1. Am
2. Yatt
3. Sareque
I'd like to think we used to have almost same handwriting
except that Am had the most perfect, Yatt had the cutest and
Sareque had the neatest and typewriter-like handwriting!

The Day You Blog Me Wonder
Last night, my Srikandi STF friends and I got stuck at our usual joint at Jalan 223, PJ after our weekly
I was drenched,
my car seat was soaking wet and
hitting hot shower when I reached home
felt next to best after Esalen massage.
Post-shower, I got too refreshed I couldn't sleep.
I watched Desperate Housewives Season 5 Episode 1 and 2 that I downloaded last week and I was still wide awake. Blame the shocking (WARNING: DHwives spoiler) Gabby that got fat, Carlos that turned blind, Susan that has a toyboy and Lynette's twins that are big enough to be writing sex poems to his own mom.
And so at 4in the morning
I checked my blog's sitemeter,
wondering who are all this
people?
When clicked at the link where the number is at,
I wondered even further.
I am deeply touched.
My blog has been viewed more than 5,600 this week
and it's only Wednesday.
I got itchy.
I was curious to know who checks my blog 4 in the morning.
Voila!
So I made my own blog's summary.
These are the people that contributed to heavy traffic to my blog,
if you fall into any of these, may I just thank you.
I honestly have no idea of what I'm doing here.
After midnight;
Malaysian students in UK
[perhaps my juniors (and seniors) that hated me more than anything back in STF, he he..
Wishing miraculously I'd break a leg or missing a veterbra one magical day just so that I'd stop being so gedik ya ampun]
Office hour entrance;
Young execs baru masuk office and just got their coffee fixed
[most of them that check on me actually hate me for I don't have to wake up that early in the morning to catch a train, rather than doing yoga by the poolside every morning. Just a little inside info, I still do wake up at 7 every morning. But yoga by the poolside, err.. not every morning though. Trust me, yoga can equate pain when done everyday and not getting paid for it or when you can't pay someone to force you to do 127 sun salutations daily)
But it doesn't stop me from wondering,
who reads this nonsense Diaries all the way from New York (it couldn't be SJP, she doesn't live in Bronx. SATC was all about Manhattan. Although SJP might actually live in LA), New Zealand (I would die happy if Lance Schuler or John Scott the Kiwi yoga masters actually know I exist), Toronto (is this the ex-boyfriend I am thinking?), Barcelona (could this be my beloved ex-housemate I am missing?) and I can't think of any Slovakian I know.
For whatever the reason and for your precious time,
I thank you.
* * * * * * *
I also have concluded that my style of
can be very much influenced by the blogs I frequently read.
1. I love the Kinky Blue Fairy.
And love is an understatement.
She is so cute and oh so painfully funny.
And when you thought God is fair.
Joyce seems to have it all.
But she might not be as flexible after all. He hee..
On days I browse Kinky Blue Fairy's full page entries,
my next entry will deem 'I-try-to-be-Joyce-funny-but-I-can-never-be'.
'I is can never be Joyce.'
I will also feel like splinting my eyes like this -_- but then no one does it like Joyce.
From friends working at BAT, Joyce actually does look like -_- when she squints her eyes!
2. I also think my ex-classmate from STF, Marliza Yanti is one of the most talented writer I ever came across. Not to mention she has the most meticulous and immaculately neat handwriting I have ever seen! I love mine too :P but no one writes like Marliza.
Walaupun Marliza pasti ketawa, Ninie punya entry BM entah apa-apa. Muat naik pun tak tahu. Hu huu..
(once you've started writing in Malay,
it's oh so hard to switch to Manglish back!
Or maybe it just happens to this illiterate me..
Or let me just try again)
3. Lately, I found myself clicking and checking Hanis Zalikha's blog everyday.
Not because she's pretty, not because she was a Malaysian Dreamgirl finalist..
Ok lah, I lied. This is another Malaysian creature that seems to have it all,
pretty, tall (make-up might transform you to be a prettier you but when you are stuck being 5 feet..), SUPER FUNNY I tell you, blessed with a sporting mom and incredibly happy home and unbelievably down-to-earth!
I thought models are all (maaf ye, terpaksa generalize sebab MOST models I know memang begini) dumb and full of themselves. Yang Melayu tak geti cakap English, yang bukan Melayu pun tak konfiden cakap English, cuma yang celup je boleh cakap English, itupun dengan accent. Tapi Hanis lain, maybe that's why I love her. Serious love, bukan hate. Walaupun dia hampir ada segala yang saya bukan. Kalau dia fleksibel jugak dan sama cup size, baru lah tak love, he hee..
Maka bila terkena virus blog Hanis, tulisan macam perenggan kat atas lah jadinya. Bahasa Melayu yang comel (walaupun English Hanis juga sangat power!) dan tulisan yang ikhlas tapi laser tapi sebab dapat rasa ketulusan hati dia, maka jadik comel.
* * * * * * *
We should feel lucky that they share their beautiful lives and insights online.
I salute them for not only writing about people or food or things they hate,
for still being able to see everything beautifully and to write beautiful everything
and I thank them for the inspiration they never know.
Or maybe now they do.
:P
And I do know something else too.
AKULAH YANG TAK ORIGINAL, ha hah haa!
Kesian korang yang baca blog aku..

The Day 'The Boy Is..'
I thank those who commented and pointed it out nicely, anyways!)
Dear Diary,
So two out-of-the-zone yoga instructors decided
to sing their lungs out at Red Box Plus, Pavilion one evening.
The girl shared the story of how she met her favourite local male singer the night before.
The guy replied with the story of 'his friend' used to go out with that singer.
"Kau ni, tak nak dengar cakap lah. He is not into YOU, degil betul!"
And so they chose to duet The Boy Is Mine,
dedicated especially to their jejaka idaman Malaya.
Sing along and watch out for improvisations TM (cue The Love Guru) by Mimie.
Mimie:
Must you do the things you do
You keep on acting like a fool
You need to know, its me not you
And you didn't know cause IT'S TRUE
Ninie:
I think that you should realize
And try to understand why
He is apart of my life
I know its killing you inside
Mimie:
You can say what you wanna say
What we have you can't take
From the truth you can't escape
I CAN TELL the real from the fake
Ninie:
When will you get the picture
Your the past I'm the future
Get away it's my time to shine
If you didn't know the boy is mine
Ninie & Mimie:
You need to give it up
Had about enough
Its not hard to see
The boy is mine
Mimie:
I'm sorry that you
Seem to be confused
He belongs to me
The boy is GAY!
Cilakak!
Potong mood jadik Brandy terbaikkkkkkkkkkkkkkk punya!
Tapi kelakar jugak lah, mereka tergelak dan tergolek adalah empat minit kat situ.
Hmmm..
Betul ke?

The Day 'I'm The Lucky One'
Yesterday night, after 3-hours of Nescafe tarik at Devi's, Hartamas with MK joined by my young & famous housemate, Henry and a Srikandi STF friend, the three of us joined Supertall and his friends post-badminton-session for a very late supper at Sri Nirwana Maju, Bangsar.
After another few cups of teh tarik, a friend of Supertall pointed that,
"Eh Ninie, tu bukan Anuar Zain ke duduk table belakang you?"
I turned back to check and it was ANUAR ZAIN, ok!
Tiba-tiba my hands went cold and Ninie jadik nervous.
Lupa sekejap ada boyfriend kat sebelah.
Tapi boyfriend gua cool.
"It's just Anuar Zain, bukan contest pun" kata dia,
unaffected langsung.
The boys bet that I'd force Anuar Zain to pose a yoga pose with me.
They lost. For I didn't.
Malu and segan.
Tapi dying nak sangat, sangat, sangat sebenarnya.

My Supertall IS cool as fcuk.
He is working for a big project for me, that is cooler than fcuk.
I don't know how to thank him enough,
so I made and drew him, this.
(drawn on Moleskine for Watercolor)
I think it's cute.
And sweet.
Kan?
Tak sia-sia STF 100% A1 for paper Art masa SPM '99.
I can only let you know more,
when it's ready to go.
Kalau tak, takut potong luck.
Nanti dah ready,
I nak invite Anuar Zain.
:)

The Day I Met (or made?) Mini Ninie(s)
About a month ago, I was given the honour by my favourite local fashion website, Tongue In Chic to dress up two dolls for their launch. In my understanding, the dolls were given to (was it?) 50 of KL's designers / artists / fashionistas. Which part of me screams any of the mentioned, I also donchknow but I thank them anyway. I had so much fun doing them, you had noooo idea!
So this uncreative me was stuck for a week not knowing how to dress up the dolls.
Near the deadline (or was it past deadline, he hee..), I was desperate and my unstable state of mind (that time) told me to dress up the dolls as, ME.
First Mini Ninie was inspired by one of my favourite adidas by Stella McCartney tops.
(Mini Ninie's clothes were made from ribbons and wires and cross-stitch threads bought from Czip Lee, Bangsar. Thanks to Chi that I bumped into there [what coincidence!], for the recommendation.)
Both Ninie and her Mini Ninie-s also completed their looks with elastic H&M headbands (I have almost 8 of them now, in different colours and styles, hooray!). Great finish to a bad-hair-day dan supaya itu fringe tidak masuk mulut ketika downward-facing dog atau headstand.
And so came the much-anticipated launch of Tongue In Chic one rainy Wednesday night at The Apartment Downtown in KLCC where my plus-one and I arrived oh-so fashionably late.
There were..
soooo many preeeeeettty dollsssss!
I felt so malu..
My Mini Ninie-s looked soooo tiny..
But that still didn't stop me from taking pictures with my Mini-s :).
Although I didn't get to bag home my susah-payah made Minis-s :(.
Chi was my plus-one (and photographer, thank you babe!) that night. She has posted a nice(r!) entry and more pictures of the party in her blog although it is not my say to link up her new blog here, he hee.. So, just be nice, content and grateful with what I can share here, OK?
Chi and I showing off our (or lack of) back muscles and make-up skill, he hee.. Chi's pose and angle terbaik punya kan? I was the pushy art director for that pose of hers, thanks to watching Jay Manuel on the endless repeats of ANTM.
(Speaking of make-up, there's this make-up tag that I have always been wanting to post-up. If time permits, maybe you'll see the bahan-bahan why my make-up always soooo over, tomorrow. Kot..)
Oh, and for the TIC launch, I actually tried to copy this look of Carrie Bradshaw somewhere at the end of SATC The Movie, which I hope all of you have seen it by now.
Pictures are captured from Sex And The City The Movie the book that I bought in Kinokuniya at Takashimaya Sq, Singapore.
Although my dress is so not from Alexander McQueen dan my heels juga bukan dari Manolo Blahnik, I think the neckline, the length of the dress and the almost-very-same-shaped glasses copied the look, dalam 60% pun jadilah.
Just in case you are curious, or if you want to find more reasons to criticize me,
scroll through for where I got my wear:
Dress: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes
Clutch: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes juga
Shoes: Bukan Shoes, Shoes, Shoes tapi Aldo
Belt: Zara
Glasses: cK
Hair set: Raymond from Peek-A-Boo, Bangsar (he almost fainted when I asked him if it's wise to put up a blue bird on my hair as per Carrie's wedding do)
Nail & Toes Colour: Glitters, Bangsar ViIIage using OPI's Eiffel For This Color (from new OPI: France colours, I love them!) Even my manicurists got sick of my alternate choice over Moon Over Mumbai and Get Me To The Taj On Time from their last OPI: India colours. They even had, or still have this regal blue colour named Yoga-Ta Get This Blue! Tapi tak pernah berani lah nak pakai blue, nanti lipstick kena sentiasa biru juga.. And my mom will pengsan and be turned to blue too)
.. or keep (or start if you haven't started) checking the cool and rawking Tongue In Chic website for new and hip places of what-to-wear and where-to-buy!
Thanks again, Tongue In Chic for the fashionable launch
and most importantly, for the fashion for clue-less and style-less girls like me!

The Day TGI Wednesday!
I teach 9 grueling yoga classes on Monday and Tuesday which require me to wake up 5.30 am on both mornings for it's first class. After the ninth class, I usually rush off to play futsal with my Srikandi girls (by the way, Srikandi Futsal Tournament is back! I'll keep you posted).
Since I resigned my 9 to 6 job (nevertheless I used to work 9 to 6 only on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday :P) last month, this has been my life:

AM 10: Wake up
10.05: Headstand
10.10: Have bananas for breakfast
10.45: Azmi's Dynamic / Matthew's Ashtanga Led yoga class
NOON 1: Read a book as the TV watches me
PM 2: Banana leaf rice (staple lunch) on Fridays, if not Thursdays, if not ALL three days! Bad..
3: Reruns of SATC to help me fall asleep
4: Nap
5: Wake up, headstand, snack with bananas, stuff up with chocolate
6: Gary's Hatha 2 yoga class
8: Have soto for dinner at Aji Don
NIGHT 10: More bananas and chocolates and TV
12: Baca buku..
Every beautiful Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
After the long Monday and Tuesday, I know I deserve this.
For I have a long list of classes to teach on Saturdays.
Thank you my young Henry for the big and badddddd fattening Toblerone, my Supertall for the goooooood Rocky Road (best Cadbury ever, I tell you!) and Jehan Miskin (which shall be referred to as Supermuskel after this) for the thought-provoking books.
I will resume my visit to GSC's International Screen movies on weekday afternoons,
very soon.
