The Day BE (Goes) Blogging!

Dear Invited Bloggers,

Thank you for BEING at beyoga earlier.
It was a great honour to have touched your spines.

A special shoutout to Huai Bin of SixthSeal fame
who has already posted up a post on his yoga pose ;)

It was his very first yoga class, believe it.

Do look out for more yoga poses and stunts from your favourite Malaysian bloggers next week onwards.

May we all now BE shielded and protected

The Day If Only You Can Make Me Understand

Dear Kenny Sia,

I thank you for your kind mention in your blog

and for your supportive comment in mine.
Those felt like warm hugs I really needed in this time of trial.

I am only human
blessed with love around me,
extra flexibility in my body and
an online space in where I share my happiness and heartbreaks.

Being a daughter to a man who used to serve the country's biggest Malay newspaper for over 30 years, I have never underestimated the power of media. JAKIM themselves confessed that their statement was manipulated by newspapers and only ONE of the muftis dared to state out loud that 'it is Haram and there is no reason and no question to why it should be banned' to the press.

I tried, Kenny.
I tried,

.. to voice out and enlighten my nation by writing to
every major newspaper I know with the same letter

but what can I do and what can I say
if my letter only made it to English newspapers
while the Bahasa ones chose to print letters stressing
"Jadi mengapa perlu yoga, jika kita solat lima waktu sehari semalam"
(by the same newspaper that used to make me and my yoga their cover just last year)

and another plastered these as their main 'variation' last Saturday.

What else can I do and who else could I turn to
when 99% percent of the hate-comments and personal attacks
left in my blog are in my beloved and highly-respected Bahasa bangsa?

I am done with being mad.
Leaving me with being sad,
tad too sad,

.. over MY failure to understand the system,
over ME not understanding what makes it so hard for them to understand
that I am simply trying to share what worked for me
and what changed me to being someone healthier.

I know you'd understand me, Kenny
and may I thank you again for your time and kindness.

See you around sometime.

In love and in light,
Ninie Ahmad

The Day Sharing's Sweet Pleasures Are..

Dear Diary,

Sometimes some people ask,
what do I get from blogging.

If I can sum it in one entry, aside from:

- making instant friends
- getting strangers online wishing you well and praying for your success
- earning easy money from Nuffnang
(alhamdulillah, I manage to cash out RMXXX every month and
earned RMX,XXX from writing advertorials this month!),

pouring your heart out and (shamelessly) sharing your pictures online
only feel rewarded when:

1. Reading your inspirations commenting

sumpah tengah pemalu sekarang. i'll tell you one secret ive never told anyone, not even one jiwa (soul). haha. i was your silent reader for years. you know when you had the brown layout from blogger. you said you were lazy to go and find layouts from other sites. apatah lagi nak create one. so you guna je layout brown tuh, yang macam wallpaper tuh. im not sure kalau the add of your blog now is still the same, ive lost track, because one day, you decided not to write anymore. you letak picture of your back with a tattoo on it and said your goodbyes. and recently, when ive started blogging once again (yes i used to blog for 3months, inspired by you, then hancur pemalas nak mampus untuk update dah la tak femes takde sape baca pergh bosan gila jenuh aku tulis, kawan-kawan pun tengah kemaruk friendster, bukan nak layan baca blog i), i found you! yes you ninie! yes the yoga instructor! when i was featured as nuffnang blogger of the month, and i was browsing thru who checked out my blog, then i saw THE YOGA INSTRUCTOR. hehe reunion. oke dah. mak panggil. bye. lagipun dah penat mengomel. oh oh kejap. pastu, masa i buat blog dulu, masa form3 kot, i pun teringin nak tiru your entry titles yang The Day, The Day tuh. tapi tak nak ah. tak ori. jahat jadi peniru. ya sila bangga ada orang nak tiru. haha oke bye. masih pemalu.

The Day You Blog Me Wonder

Dear Diary,

Last night, my Srikandi STF friends and I got stuck at our usual joint at Jalan 223, PJ after our weekly gossip session futsal training for the rain poured as if it was the end of the world. As the clock struck 1am, we decided to hit the rain to make it back to our cars. Some people still have to go to work tomorrow, Ninie. So said one of my girls. Yelah, yelah.

I was drenched,
my car seat was soaking wet and
hitting hot shower when I reached home
felt next to best after Esalen massage.

Post-shower, I got too refreshed I couldn't sleep.

I watched Desperate Housewives Season 5 Episode 1 and 2 that I downloaded last week and I was still wide awake. Blame the shocking (WARNING: DHwives spoiler) Gabby that got fat, Carlos that turned blind, Susan that has a toyboy and Lynette's twins that are big enough to be writing sex poems to his own mom.

And so at 4in the morning
I checked my blog's sitemeter,
wondering who are all this

people?

When clicked at the link where the number is at,
I wondered even further.

I am deeply touched.
My blog has been viewed more than 5,600 this week
and it's only Wednesday.

I got itchy.
I was curious to know who checks my blog 4 in the morning.
Voila!

So I made my own blog's summary.
These are the people that contributed to heavy traffic to my blog,
if you fall into any of these, may I just thank you.
I honestly have no idea of what I'm doing here.

After midnight;
Malaysian students in UK
[perhaps my juniors (and seniors) that hated me more than anything back in STF, he he..
Wishing miraculously I'd break a leg or missing a veterbra one magical day just so that I'd stop being so gedik ya ampun]

Office hour entrance;
Young execs baru masuk office and just got their coffee fixed
[most of them that check on me actually hate me for I don't have to wake up that early in the morning to catch a train, rather than doing yoga by the poolside every morning. Just a little inside info, I still do wake up at 7 every morning. But yoga by the poolside, err.. not every morning though. Trust me, yoga can equate pain when done everyday and not getting paid for it or when you can't pay someone to force you to do 127 sun salutations daily)

But it doesn't stop me from wondering,
who reads this nonsense Diaries all the way from New York (it couldn't be SJP, she doesn't live in Bronx. SATC was all about Manhattan. Although SJP might actually live in LA), New Zealand (I would die happy if Lance Schuler or John Scott the Kiwi yoga masters actually know I exist), Toronto (is this the ex-boyfriend I am thinking?), Barcelona (could this be my beloved ex-housemate I am missing?) and I can't think of any Slovakian I know.

For whatever the reason and for your precious time,
I thank you.

* * * * * * *

I also have concluded that my style of writing blogging
can be very much influenced by the blogs I frequently read.

1. I love the Kinky Blue Fairy.
And love is an understatement.
She is so cute and oh so painfully funny.
And when you thought God is fair.
Joyce seems to have it all.
But she might not be as flexible after all. He hee..

On days I browse Kinky Blue Fairy's full page entries,
my next entry will deem 'I-try-to-be-Joyce-funny-but-I-can-never-be'.
'I is can never be Joyce.'
I will also feel like splinting my eyes like this -_- but then no one does it like Joyce.
From friends working at BAT, Joyce actually does look like -_- when she squints her eyes!

2. I also think my ex-classmate from STF, Marliza Yanti is one of the most talented writer I ever came across. Not to mention she has the most meticulous and immaculately neat handwriting I have ever seen! I love mine too :P but no one writes like Marliza.

Walaupun Marliza pasti ketawa, Ninie punya entry BM entah apa-apa. Muat naik pun tak tahu. Hu huu..

3. Kebelakangan ni
(once you've started writing in Malay,
it's oh so hard to switch to Manglish back!
Or maybe it just happens to this illiterate me..
Or let me just try again)

3. Lately, I found myself clicking and checking Hanis Zalikha's blog everyday.
Not because she's pretty, not because she was a Malaysian Dreamgirl finalist..
Ok lah, I lied. This is another Malaysian creature that seems to have it all,
pretty, tall (make-up might transform you to be a prettier you but when you are stuck being 5 feet..), SUPER FUNNY I tell you, blessed with a sporting mom and incredibly happy home and unbelievably down-to-earth!

I thought models are all (maaf ye, terpaksa generalize sebab MOST models I know memang begini) dumb and full of themselves. Yang Melayu tak geti cakap English, yang bukan Melayu pun tak konfiden cakap English, cuma yang celup je boleh cakap English, itupun dengan accent. Tapi Hanis lain, maybe that's why I love her. Serious love, bukan hate. Walaupun dia hampir ada segala yang saya bukan. Kalau dia fleksibel jugak dan sama cup size, baru lah tak love, he hee..

Maka bila terkena virus blog Hanis, tulisan macam perenggan kat atas lah jadinya. Bahasa Melayu yang comel (walaupun English Hanis juga sangat power!) dan tulisan yang ikhlas tapi laser tapi sebab dapat rasa ketulusan hati dia, maka jadik comel.

* * * * * * *

We should feel lucky that they share their beautiful lives and insights online.

I salute them for not only writing about people or food or things they hate,
for still being able to see everything beautifully and to write beautiful everything
and I thank them for the inspiration they never know.
Or maybe now they do.
:P

And I do know something else too.
AKULAH YANG TAK ORIGINAL, ha hah haa!
Kesian korang yang baca blog aku..
