The Day It Was (almost) The End Of Me

Dear Diary,

I thought I could finally just stop blogging in peace,
without updates for a month until you guys give up upon checking on me,
not knowing what Almighty God had in store for me today, this very Aidiladha
forcing me to share this here as I badly need some online hugs.

Excluding yoga,
I have minimized driving and stopped all other sporting and physical activities namely futsal and rockclimbing
for the past three weeks to pay some respect to my severely sprained and unsightly bandaged right knee.

To add salt to my injury,

I have been sick and feeling sickeningly low
for the past three days.

Still losing my voice and burning with high fever this afternoon,
I carried my parents' responsibility to drive my four younger brothers and sisters
from Bangsar to beraya at my cousin's house at Seri Kembangan.

The rain was unusually heavy.

At the left turning to Kelab Lumba Kuda,
after switching transmission from auto to manual
and as I tried to drop gear,
I lost control of the wheel.

























I felt as if my beloved Batmobile floated
when it spun three times.

It was my kids' panic scream that woken me up
and made me realize that I was not playing Need For Speed.

After all of us finally stopped shaking and finishing our syahadah,
we were 100ft to other side of the road,
at the complete opposite direction and lane.

Alhamdullilah,
God still gives me a chance to be a better me
and much thanks to ABS brake and SRS airbag
none of us got injured,
I did not hit anyone
and nobody hit us
while we got stuck waiting for the our towtruck.

It felt like yesterday
I wrote to myself what I fantasized
my mom would write for me before she left,


"SOAL KERETA

. . . . . . . . .

Kereta Along sekarang ni pun laju, ada TV,
adik-adik terutamanya Baby suka sangat naik kereta Along.

. . . . . . . . .

Tolong ya, sayang. Jangan bawak kereta laju-laju.
Mama belum sempat rasa ada menantu dan cucu."


And that was actually three weeks ago.
I thank you for still checking on me.

I might need another three good weeks
to restore my confidence in driving
.. and blogging altogether again.
