You don't have to tell me.
Even I told myself,
I can't be crazier than this:
Agreeing to take up the challenge
to be the next Red Bull Rookie driver
after only a week of my first if not major, car accident ever.
I was thankful I got shortlisted from the thousands of applicants through the online registration
but I was NOT surprised I passed the first round of interview last Saturday.
I have always loved interviews.
Selling my best-self and the best bullshit I can come out with (evidently in this blog),
have always been my thing.
But when I arrived at the second round selection venue at
Shah Alam Stadium Kart Circuit earlier today,
I immediately felt sick in the stomach
when I found out just what I had to do.
PRACTICAL DRIVING TEST.
I have been avoiding DRIVING since the unfortunate accident
that cost me my car and confidence last Monday.
And they told me that I HAD TO
drive,
drift,
park,
reverse park
the fastest I could
IN STICK
today itself?
They've got to be kidding me.
Apparently they didn't.
So I HAD TO KID myself into believing that
Fact #1: The accident never happened
Fact #2: The test is just another round of Need For Speed: Carbon
Fact #3: I am a good fast driver
Fact #4: I am reverse-parking bonafide
Fact #5: I was not scared at all
Hmmm.
The result?
I actually surprised myself.
I didn't hit any (c)one while reverse parking
and their car didn't go terbalik while I was speeding.
When you believe really hard,
sometimes it could just happen.
Except for Fact #1, which memang happened anyway.
Hmmm.
Hmmmmmm.
With that,
I have Red Bull to thank,
for successfully restoring my confidence
in my own driving.

Supporting Toro Rosso for F1 Night Race Singapore right after the Ferrari fuel-filling incident. Alangkan F1 driver pun accident, ye tak..
Now that I'm back driving
(nonetheless kereta emak)
much thanks to Red Bull,
I hope Nuffnang's attempt
to cheer me up and revive my comfort-level in blogging
with that all-expense paid trip to Singapore this coming weekend,
will be rewarding too.
