The three of us plus Supertall and his Superflexible friend
went to our neighbourhood-friendly orange-coloured restaurant at Mutiara Damansara
after Henry's Quickie@8tv shift earlier (useless info: Quickie had Yusry KRU as their guest tonight, aku marah!).
After I ordered my usual tomyam cendawan,
dengan confidentnya and a twang Henry ordered, "Can I have one Nussy Gorrayng American?"
resulting us to crack into hysterical laughter.
Henry: Ahhh, USA.. Ok, ok.. By the way, I learned another new Malay word at the office today. K-U-L-U-M.
(Laughter)
Anna: What is 'kulum' again?
Superflexible: You seriously don't know what kulum means?
Anna: Shit, I don't know! Aku Melayu separuh je.
Supertall: It's NOT a bad word, really.
Anna: No, tell me!
Henry: Go ask the waiter.
Anna: How do I ask? Abanggg, nak kulum? Can?
(LAUGHTER)
Now we are back at the house rolling marijuana,
kulum Henry (I wasn't finished) punya lollipop dalam fridge
and lounging around our house naked.

Kulum = sucking? If I am not mistaken. Contoh ayat : Kulum gula2. Betul kata Supertall, LITERALLY, it is not a bad word, really. Cumanye, penggunaan dalam bahasa ibunda ni, mcm ada x-rated sket. Contoh ayat : Kulum-mengulum. *cringe*

It irked me that someone had the cheek to generalize that 'malays have poor communication skills and speak broken english'.
May i remind Ashley Gnan that this one, that one everything one did not come from a malay speaking broken english.
It looks like you have serious issues with malays and have these fixed stereotypes in your head.
Everything is "why are Malays being hard on you" "just one pretty Malay girl getting the trump card" "Malays do not usually have good english.."
Seriously, if you are ashamed of your MALAY employees who represent your company and as an employer or colleague, if you have such a person in your organization who is not confident, lacks communication skills and speaks bad english, it is your responsibility not only as an employer or a fellow colleague, but as an educated human to actually inspire them to be a better person or teach them how to speak better english.
You don't need to be a Gandhi to inspire. Just be nice. Treat someone nice. And correct them when you can in the name of making them feel.. better.
And for your information, there are MANY smart strong and inspiring Malays. And to just cover my behind, Malays who dont ABUSE government grants, ABUSE executive power and believe in what they do for a living.
Now, as for your career advice. Why in the world would Ninie consider corporate life when she can get to do whatever she wants whenever she wants and still be alright?
I find your career advice insulting to her entrepreneural aspirations and STILL, at the end of this comment, find your comments from the previous post insulting to malays.
I could also say Malaysia needs more honest chinese businessmen but thats just generalizing yes?
Seriously. Go and have more malay friends.

I just would like to share an opinion about your diary blog. As you are now a renowned yoga instructor, a Professional, may I suggest that you keep your private life to those who are closest to you, cause they are the ones who know you,and understand you and not judging you like some people reading your blog,who has no idea who you really are. I mean,yes this is your blog and you can say whatever you like,but I don't think it is a good thing to be, pardon me, defensive towards people who doesn't know you at all, it just making things worst. You are indeed a professional and a "fitness celebrity" so why don't you try to blog more and more about yoga and fitness scene in Malaysia,despite the fatwa,and less about, you and Henry Golding?
Just a thought.

i come from northern states..so bila aku bergaul dgn bdk2 selatan (KL,johor,etc..) aku guna la kulum dlm percakapan
eg:Kulum je ubat tu,kulum coklat,dok kulum selsema tu buat pa,pi tandas lekaih...haha
so bila aku cakap, diorg tgk aku semacam skit,exchanging look,giggling..haha,aku xtau plak kat selatan it's such negative word sbb kat utara biasa ja...hahaha

You have funny housemates! Tergelak kejap baca the last paragraph. Those who can't sense the sarcastic tone will cakap macam2. It's amusing sometimes to read comments from this kind of people, kan.
On a similar note, I know you're a strong person and will find ways to overcome these unnecessary obstacles :) Be strong because there's a lot of us supporting you and yoga! (referring to previous entries about the fatwa and such)
