The Day It's OK To Change To (Be A Better) 'U'

Dear Diary,

Nombor telefon saya ialah 01X-XXXX 810
(mimpi lah nak letak number penuh kat sini :D).

A couple of years ago, upon registering my postpaid number,
I deliberately chose 810 to end my mobile number
because 8 haribulan 10 (October 8th) is my birthday.

Eventually, even my future cars (my next car has to be a hybrid, please please please Mitsubishi, make-up your mind in bringing MiEV to Malaysia already!) will be numbered XXX 810 because, I am obviously full of myself, proud of my birthday, supaya mak bangga anak sulung dia bangga dengan tarikh dia lahirkan anak pertama dia dan supaya orang tak lupa birthday kita *hint hint*.

By then I thought, kalaulah masa tu ada service provider bernombor 018
selain daripada the common 012, 013, 016 dan 019, alangkah bagusnya..
And if only my number could read 018 XXXX 810, alangkah indahnya!

If you still didn't know it by now,
SEKARANG SUNGGUH-SUNGGUH ADA!

But would I be crazy enough
to change my number and service provider
just to satisfy my OCD and just so that my number looks as if it's tailored for me?

Hmmm.

After checking out their website and postpaid plan,
I am seriously considering (switching to 018 U-Mobile) because:

1. I really like the fact that there is NO OTHER service provider that does not imply 30 second block except for U-Mobile (true at time of publishing)! Strictly 1 second billing, which means all your voice calls and video calls are charged by the second so you only pay for the exact seconds you use!

2. There is absolutely NO ACCESS FEE! Now all I'll be charged for are my phone calls, video calls, SMS and MMS usage! Kalau tak, sebulan buta-buta kena bayar RM50 ke, RM80 ke just for access fee when that RM50 or RM80 dah boleh buat pakai call dah.

3. And guess what, since almost every phone is 3G equipped now, U-Mobile's rate for phone calls and video calls are exactly the same! Why only hear voices if you can even see the person you are calling (errr, and also to check if they are exactly where they say they are?)

Even if your phone is not yet 3G-ed, U-Mobile has just the package
so that you can use your dream phone at a cheaper-than-market price!
Tak percaya? Tengok ni..

4. Untuk adik-adik yang lebih selesa menggunakan prepaid,
pek permulaan U-Mobile 018 Prabayar adalah PERCUMA!
Sungguh! Betul! Tak tipu!

5. My current service provider has been sangat-sangat mengecewakan:

- During the recent new year's eve, all SMSes to me arrived two hours later!
I was waiting high and low for texts from Julie because we were supposed to meet up at The Curve
for New Year celebration but her SMS that was written and sent to me two hours earlier arrived two hours later! When it was almost new year!

- My service provider that does not provide automatic roaming whenever I go out of the country, not even when I go to Singapore! I hope that explains why on some weekends you couldn't reach me or your SMS to me was not even sent. Oh, I went to Singapore 8 times last year alone!

- If you stay in Damansara Perdana, almost all service provider's receptions are poor! I hope U-Mobile's will be a lot better so I don't get disconnected for no reason during important business calls anymore.

If you share the same disappointments with your current service provider,
if you have any question regarding U-Mobile 018's many other winning advantages,
seriously, really, TRY ME, drop me your questions to this entry's comment box
and (for the first time, erkkk..) I will answer regarding question MYSELF.

(Note that only related and approved questions will be answered)

Join me to be more 'U' by switching to U-Mobile!
Even if you don't want to change your number like me,
you can still keep your very number but only change your service provider to U-Mobile!

Kawan-kawan dan saudara mara,
bersedialah menanti SMS dari saya
mengumumkan pertukaran nombor ye?

Kakak Ninie! ( :

How are you? Sihat? My phone numb ends with 01X-XXXX322 and my ID number in Uni is 012XXXX322 too!

I've been using this number since like 5 years ago but I think it's time to change to the new one since there are too many "perkenalan gatal2 rasa macam nak kena penerajang" punya messages and calls to my numb.

Tapi macam sayang kan nak tukar to the new one when are so comfy and numb tu pulak ada sentimental value kat kita. Awww. x x x

hey babe, there was a 018 before, can't remember the provide's name tho... it wasn't GSM, more like 010 if you know what I mean. No sim card either.

But that was back in 1998 or something, my 1st mobile phone, teehehe.

You gotta be kidding me!!! Guess what, my birthday's on the 8th but Supertall's on Oct 2nd!!! What are the odds? KAN?

Since memang Librans so rock ;), I tried checking your site but can't view it! If we can keep in contact, then all the four of us can celebrate our October birthdays together!

I WISH! Cuma dapat upah advertorial sikit-sikit. Boleh jugak lah kalau nak beli handphone baru ;)!

the Razzler:
Coolnya! Nanti kalau I nampak kereta end with 622, I hon OK? And since I masih takde kereta ni, I akan tahan kereta you mintak tumpang!!!

Rara:
Uish, bestnya! Tell me about it, dik! I had to change my number soooooo many before a couple of years back sebab ada this Malay fitness magazine dengan b@ngangnya printed my phone number.

Sayang jugak lah nak tukar number ke 018 ni, I kena pikir 600,000 kali!

Mr Celcom:
I know rightttt! SERIOUSLY! If you start seeing me blogging advertorial for slimming pills or whitening products, then we both know it is really really really the death of me.

But for telcos, the service is really not that bad at all and it doesn't hurt that they pay really well for this ;)

P.S. By the way, I have always been a Celcom user but they really suck lately!

JK:
Wow! What coincidence!

Kak Faiez & Acat:
Terima kasih kerana menjawab soalan masing-masing! I seriously nak jawabkan ADAm, only to realize it was 017 after Acat menjawab dengan cergasnya!

Oh, and yes, I sooooooo ingat 010! Masa tu 010 wajib dipakai dengan Motorola Startek kan, kan, kan?

Miss Urban Chics:
Oh, I pakai the OTHER giant service provider yang rate nya TAK sama! Thanks for the info (walaupun I was this close to not approving your comment sebab 018 paid me good money for this advertorial!)

batique:
Yes, very sure :). U Mobile was awarded a 3G spectrum by MCMC in March, 2006 allowing it to build and operate a 3G Mobile Network.

And seriously, the best part about U Mobile is, it is currently the only 3G service provider in Malaysia to offer per–second billing for all its postpaid and prepaid plans!

Just go to ANY of their dealers and have your service provider changed to U Mobile without having to change your number, if you don't want to! I je yang ngada :)
