The Day It Was A Marcell Night Fever

Dear Diary,

They are not unknown facts to my close friends that Ninie's guy has to be (physically)
1. Bald
2. Beardy
3. Chinese / Japanese-looking Malays or Malay-looking Chinese / Japanese

something lebih kurang like this (apres and sans afro)





































so when different set of girlfriends invited me along to catch Marcell at Wine Room last Friday night,
the very night my already bald, beardy and Japanese-looking Supertall attended his audit firm's costume-party annual dinner,
I did not hesitate to say yes and fetched them sorang-sorang from home.

Boy, weren't we lucky that night.

We were right in front of the stage,

THAT his songlist was directly under our noses





















and he even gave ME his bottle of drinking water!

















But not as lucky as this particular Vietnamese-American girl,
who has been our house-guest for the past one week,
who was leaving to Bangkok the very next morning,
who has NEVER heard of Marcell,


























































but got pulled up and hugged onstage.
I did think about not driving her home that night.

Indahnya makhluk Tuhan seorang ini..



The last time I was this crazy at a concert was at konsert KRUmania tahun 1998 (ha ha haa!) exactly 10 years ago.
Or was it during Incubus' when Brandon Boyd was less than 5 metres away from me?
Eh, or wasn't it when I got called upstage during Dewa's concert at Fort Canning, Singapore year 2003?
Hmmm..

Anyways, when we thought we have had enough of Marcell,
we made our way home.

Yet, as we passed Shangri-La in town,
we spotted Marcell AGAIN!
Can you believe our luck?

I don't know how he did it
but in less than half an hour,
he was wearing his afro-do again.




















He said, the botak head IS his costume.

Dengan tidak membuang masa,
kami pun dengan segera mengambil gambar dengan Marcell
(sebab tadi hanya menjerit, Hanya Memuji dan tak dapat ambik gambar berdua-duaan)

















But this 'Marcell' is supertaller, hmmm..



dan mengajaknya makan-makan maggi goreng di Bestari, Hartamas.
Dia nak pulak tu, seronoknya (Marcell)!

After an estimated half hour there,
one of my sisters, Ladysoul whispered, "Marcell, Marcell!"
and the Marcell in front of us pun tersenyum sumbing
but she was pointing to the entrance of 7-11 beside Bestari.

Aitttt, that Marcell looked more like the Marcell that performed in front of us earlier!
And he was entering 7-11 with Rima Melati, his infamous girlfriend!

CHEH! Impostor rupanya Marcell yang kita bawak pergi Bestari ni.
And so we left him there, all 6-foot of him, big haired and all, all by himself
and got him to pay for our food and drink,
to shamelessly masuk 7-11 and screamed,
"MARCELLLLLL! Why are you stalking us!!!!!!"















I really did tell him that. Seriously.

Yang cantik tersenyum di belakang tu adalah Rima Melati Adams, girlfriend Marcell yang terpaksa bersabar melihat buah hatinya digomol cewek-cewek Malaysia



When it was my turn, Dona told him, "She is a yoga instructor! You have to do a yoga pose with her!"
without knowing that he is an avid if not religious tai-chi practitioner.

















Waduhh, three-stripes lu itu gue jugak suka banget!



So what happens when a handsome Indonesian celebrity who practices tai-chi
and a 'bajet' perasan Malaysian celebrity yoga instructor berjumpa di 7-11?

Jadiklah begini..







































It was so worth leaving that supertall impostor outside,
I tell you..

Semoga kami terjumpa Marcell lagi DI 7-11 BAWAH RUMAH cuti ini
(apparently his girlfriend is our neighbour and he's staying in KL until the day after Christmas!)
