Dear Diary,

Last week, I received an e-mail all the way from UK.
Or so I thought.

subject I have a few questions...
hi,
I am looking to invest in a yoga magazine in Malaysia.....
I am based in the UK and have been noticing the growing interest and demand of the Yoga industry in Malaysia.... I personally have a yoga studio here and we have been running this for the past 8 years..
Getting down to it,
- I would like to know from your side would you be interested in an investor?
- Is HatiYoga and YogaXXXX associated in any way?
- From what i have noticed, there are 2 yoga magazine's in Malaysia and both claim to be the first yoga magazine and the premier yoga magazine... can you please explain this to me...
- Does HatiYoga have all the licences?
- Why is HatiYoga not on the news stands and YogaXXXX is?
- What is the reason HatiYoga is hesitating to hit the news stand?
- What kind of capital or investment would HatiYoga need to be up to standard as YogaXXXX?
- How can i receive a copy of HatiYoga?
* from all the way over here i have received a copy of YogaXXXX in 3 days upon request....
- Please make things very clear to me as we can work hand in hand to get up to steam as YogaXXXX....
From my opinion YogaXXXX has got there act together, and they are not interested in an investor as they are very highly funded personally....
Please revert to me as soon as you can, and we will see where we can take this.
Thank you very much
Regards
Paul.
Oh, come on!
Nothing comes free in this world anymore.
After what I've been through for the past couple of months, I learn that justice doesn't happen often and kindness doesn't come easy.
And I smelt lies in between of his lines.
I held my breath and checked YogaXXXX
(the other Malaysia's premiere yoga magazine).
True enough.
I just have to share my reply.

Dear 'Paul',
Thank you for the e-mail and concern.
I did prepare a different set of answers before realizing that you are the 'Brand Executive' of YogaXXXX itself. There a few questions that I'd like to answer even more now, although the tone of answers might have changed.
1. No, HatiYoga is NOT looking for a personal let alone pseudo investor. We have and are happy with our corporate sponsors and potential advertisers.
2. No, there is no association between HatiYoga and YogaXXXX, although the similarities of both covers are funnily uncanny. Kindly revert and refer to release date on both covers for your own judgment.
3. We consider HatiYoga being Malaysia's first yoga magazine as it was made available to the public and launched in February 2007. The process of making the magazine, the launch and almost everything else was documented by Popiah Pictures, a production house appointed by Nescafe.
4. Yes, we do.
5. Until now, the public can obtain the magazine at selected Adidas stores around the Klang Valley. HatiYoga will hit newstands in the nearest time.
6. Stating HatiYoga is not up to YogaXXXX standard and that YogaXXXX is highly funded personally: are personal judgments if not attacks and sadly, I translate that as insecurity and vulnerability on your side.
7. May I suggest, next time do not use your personal e-mail that has your name 'XXXXXX XXXXX' (that is clearly on YogaXXXX's Editorial Page) on it's sender's default and sign it off with your selection of English name. One does not have to be in UK to own a yahoo.co.uk. domain and it doesn't take my IT degree to know that.
It is a pity that YogaXXXX / you feel the need to do this.
You should have wished me luck instead of testing me with false 'investment' offer.
HatiYoga is made from dreams and with love.
We simply wish to share the love of yoga to more hearts of Malaysia so that Malaysians look better, feel healthier and live longer. I expect and foresee healthy competition, it is a shame that our small and supposedly virtuous Yoga community is infected with something unethical like this.
If anything, Yoga taught us all to be kind and respectful to each other.

If I want to beas bad, I can say YogaXXXX looks like the mock-up of HatiYoga.

If I want to be really bad, YogaXXXX can't be using that name in the first place for there is an established international yoga magazine of the same title (Copyright Act 1987, Part IV, 26).

I feel really bad. And sad.
For them.

gelabah sial. ada ke orang nak bayar 15 ribu. gambar dalam magazine macam org ambik pakai digicam je.
layout magazine pun berterabur.
tolong la weh, jangan nak buat magazine kalau nak kaut untung je la. merosakkan nama baik yoga je. kesian depa instructor yang tungkus lumus ajar yoga. buat malu je.
takde ke sesapa kat malaysia ni nak buat magazine pasal memang minat gila bende tuh? (kecuali hati yoga la, tengok gaya ninie nih mmg 'dedicated' dgn yoga)
25,000 circulation 6 kali setahun.
Baik pi betulkan magazine dulu la. toksah duk cakap besar magazine bagus habis. dahlah nak nyamar pun tak jadi.
website pun macam ok ok je.
apa la nak jadi dgn dunia ni.
All those things aside, personally just from the cover alone, Hati Yoga magazine looks alot more 'professional'...
Keep it up..
what can i say? copycats, liars, immatures, and insecure freaks - they actually need to put other people down just to feel good about themselves and for that, they suck big time. i'd say one word to the guy: PAULOSER.
